During acceleration v/t 1 = 1 t 1 = v

During retardation, v/t 2 = 3 or t 2 = v/3

Using s = 1/2 v(t 1 + t 2 ) [Displacement = area of Δ Δ ]

or 1200 = 1/2 v(v + v/3)

or 1200 = 2v 3 /3

or v 2 = 3600/2 = 1800

or v = 42.4

∴ ∴ t 1 + t 2 = 42.4 + 42. 4/3 = 56.5 s
